Is the idle air control valve off an automatic 240 the same as a manual 240? I think mine is done. Here is what happens in a short sense: The cars idle just drops when I let my foot off the gas and when I am stopped it will stall. Now my friend has an automatic KA lying around and if the parts are the same he said I could have the idle air control valve.

Nobody knows if the Idle Air Control Valve off an automatic is the same as the one off a Manual. Come on people I figured someone on here would know this.

I will run the part numbers at my work this week for you. I can't tell just from looking at it. You never know what small differences Nissan might have made between the 2.

It's called the IACV or the auxiliary air control (AAC). However, the only way your car should die at idle without it functioning is if you're running your AC. In a manual I'm fairly certain it only comes on when you start the car and when the AC comes on.

I know because I have a manual switch attached to mine, and the engine will even run an electrical fan at an idle speed of about 750 just fine.

It would be a pain to replace; it's back by the firewall (under most of everything else) on the passenger's side. There are some other people online with problems similar to yours, check around in other threads.
