I was recently told I needed to replace the idle air control system on my 2002 Infiniti I35. I only have 54,000 miles on the car and I'm curious if this is a common repair for this car. I'm also curious as to an appoximate cost (parts and labor) to make the repair. Any help would be appreciated.

Isn't that a drive-by-wire car? There is only the throttle actuator, no IAC valve. What are your codes or symptoms? Probably needs a throttle plate or idle relearn. Some cars won't relearn but sometimes reflashing the ECM will allow it to relearn.

The code is P0507, no symptoms other than the service engine soon light. It seems like a lot of money to replace and I'm trying to decide if buying a new car wouldn't be better in the long run.
