Im on a roll 2nite but...

My idle is at about 875-900 after its warmed up, and the engine makes a whining sound, i guess u can say its knocking, but the second i give it a tiny throttle, as in over 950-1000 RPM the sound stop and engine is quiet, i dont know what it is, and im sure its not good, some ppl said it was my timing chain, cuz guy be4 me changed it himself, and may have retarded the timing, i dunno, not 2 good wit that chain

is it ok if i adjust the idle with the throttle control sitting near the engine just a tiny bit so it always idles at around 950-1000??

its hard to say what the sound could be from the keyboard..what i would do is let it warm up and listen for the noice again with the hood open..try to scope out the sound..if its coming from the front of the block opposed to the side or back then ya its a good chance its the timing chain tensioner..by the way if the timing was retarded/off your car would not run right...also the correct way to adjust the idle is by the idle adjustment screw on your IACV
