birthday is comming around and dad said if i got a job he would get me a car, so naturally i went out to get a job the next day (taco bell 6.50$ hourly woo :)). I am a fan of rwd due to the increased handling, and previous to a couple months ago, i was looking at mr2s. my friends brother, who drove an awesome one, spun out, (he was on cheater slicks) hit a pole, and passed away in the hospital. http://www.bullittzero.com/Vbb...logan if you care, his name was logan. anyway, i have no chance of getting an mr2 because my mom is scared the same will happen to me. 240sx with an engine swap seems like the perfect alternative. Originally, i was looking into getting an sr20det, but for some reason i have found rb25det swaps for cheaper than an sr20det, and plus it just gives me shivers thinking about having the chance to own a car with a skyline motor :).

ANYWAY.....friends dad (father of the above friend who passed away)said he could help me on it (he is verryyy good with everything car related) but i want to figure out as much as i can ahead of time so that im not having somone elses dad do work for me (i want to try to do as much of it as i can by myself).

if you didnt read the top part, at least read this :)As the subject title says, i am an idiot. I drive an old volvo right now and i dont care to learn anything about volvos, so i havent had a chance to get much first hand knowledge about cars. Everything i know has been scrapped together from the internet, but its really patchy. When i say i need an idiots guide, i mean like hardcore super idiot. like "how does a clutch work" idiot. obviously, there is going to be no 2000 step by step with pictures guide on how to complete an engine swap, so i was hoping maybe you guys could point me in the right direction on where to start reading? my only request - please, PLEASE no more conflicting information :p my brain is so scrambled from conflicting information.

THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!

Sorry about your friend. MR2 are not ment to be first cars! or even 2nd cars. THey were meant to be sunshine weekend cars for a guy in his 30's :) Check out the RB section, because as I know, there are no step by step guides.

http://240skyline.nissanpower.com/index.html Has some pretty decent but general info. Also, the guy who owns the site is pretty much the source around here for stuff dealing with that swap, which I'm saving for at the moment. :)

Also, check out the RB Engines forum on this site. That is where Night (the guy from the site Seva listed) generally hangs out. He's pretty cool and will answer pretty much any question you have.
