Hey guys..

Well today i was heading home from the library kinda moody. I was driving pretty carelessely and fast. So i came to this turn, that i always take, its basically like an L shape. Down shifted into gear 2, revved the car up and shot around the corner. As i was negotiating the corner i turned a bit too sharply and bam.. My rear right end tire hit the curb hard, my rear end slid out just a little bit. I regained control and knew i damaged the rim but didnt want to look at it just yet, it would probably make me feel even worse. So i got home and checked it out.

I have huggeee scratch thats reallly deep in the rims . The paint is still falling off of it. It is soOoOoOoOoO ugly. I was thinking of repainting /sanding it down.. But i dont have the tool to remove the wheel. Nor do i want to pay someone to do it for me.Ahhh.. I hate this car. Im always tempted to throw it around corners/ accelerate hard.

Driving it slowly just isnt fun when i know theres that much power on tap.

get it sand blasted for cheap at an auto body shop, then spray-paint them yourself. *lightbulb turns on* sand blast all of them and paint them gunmetal.

you shouldn't get charged more than 60 or 70 beans for sand-blasting all 4 rims. but i'd tell em to get the tires off first.

you said you dont have the tool to remove the rim? does all coupes come with a jack and handle? if so, then the handle is used to remove the lug nuts.

sounds like it may be a driver problem! can't blame the car for smacking the curb. you're on the wheel dude.

Take it easy. I know how you feel, I'm tempted to push her but then the 50+km Law* kicks in and I take my foot off the gas.

*Minimum $2,000+ fine, Impound for SE7EN days, Driver's License too.

I would be more worried about Internal Injuries like Alignment/Suspension.

If you don't want to try DIY (there's one on ClubRSX), either pay up or use this as an excuse to get new 18's!

i feel your pain.... when i drive my dad's benz (he never drives it, im the only one that drives it) i can cruise and not go fast at all, even tho it's actually a little faster then my A/C. but i just can't fight the temptation with the A/C. when you're having a bad day or mad, nothing like flooring the gas pedal lol

but ya, painting the rims would be nice... got lucky tho, i wrecked my Expedition into an iron fence but no damage happened from the fence, all the damage was from the curb, messed up my whole rear axel, the tire even fell off..... i try to avoid fast turns now lol

heh.

I dont literally hate the car. I love it.Its just that whenever theres a turn i want to drop the gear rev the car up and take it. I just love the power and i guess dont have the skill to compensate for it.Id probably get destroyed on a track by a civic si the first time i went.. But, im guessing its not that easy driving on a track with the stock tires. Anyways, it is my fault and i was an idiot But i guess i may get it sand blasted... dont know.I just will never forget this Hopefully suspension isnt bad.. I was on the highway the same day going at 140km/h, didnt feel any different. So i dont think anything is wrong there.

seriously I know what you are saying I drove between mississauga and guelph (university of guelph) on the 401 and in that stretch, people drive 160km/h.... and on that stretch thats normal, that part of the 401 should be 120km/h or 140km/h for a speed limit, there are very few accidents on that part of the highway. Seriously especially in 3.5se its so easy to hit 150 from 120 just passing someone.

That's terrible man! I know the urge but sometimes it's better to keep your foot off the gas, especially in sharp turns. Good luck with the fix!

Sorry to hear that. but it's ok man, its a sporty car and **** happens, we all have those days where we just dont give a fudge and driving helps....but then I think about getting busted and then the insurance and well....talking about insurance just boils my blood considering how Ontario is the worst for insurance!!!...anyways man, i'd say use the excuse to get rims or like other ppl said get them sand blasted and painted...

That does suck! I'd suggest these options. Check around at your local auto wreckers for a rim. If you strike out, try ebay - I've seen them there at pretty good prices. The third option would be a wheel refinisher. Good luck!
