Hey, this is my first post but I've been lurking for a couple of months gathering info for my VH45 into Z32 swap, LOADS of great info here.
I did a few hours searching (and got sidetracked a few times) but I haven't been able to find out how to identify what year my halfcut is (and thus what version of the VH45 I have)
I know the differences between year models in the VH45 rangepre 94 had plastic chain guides and siamesed intake ports, post 94 had metal backed guides and oval ports.
But is theres any stamp/engine number somewhere that can be deciphered to find out what year I have before pulling it apart to check the hardware?
I though I had a '96 going by the chassis vin but without any references on how to properly decipher the VIN I'm only taking a calculated guess.
my VIN is (JHG50) 100598I found two other president years listed online with their year and VIN's and they were001843=91005854=92
So you can see it was 4 or 3 for 91, 5 or 4 for 92 and mine ends in 9 8. which is 5 digits after 91 on either of the last two numbers.
HOWEVER I since found out that the '96 models had oval connectors on the injectors (is this the same for JDM motors?) and I just checked and mine have square connectors
So now I'm confused, so any help is appreciated
EDIT- I have pulled the ECU; it has the numbers23710 66U15 A18-000 P45stamped 3y05
I can't find this ECU listed, can anyone help? This should tell me the year of the halfcut
