I'm trying to get my AC working, but whenever I turned it on the fuse blew. the hot to compressor is shorted to ground somewhere(mis-connected wire I'm sure), but in the process of tracing where it goes I found this: Unknown component, one 2-wire plug and one single wire connector.the plug that they all went into. The connector that ran between them, the single wire part is fried, I'm repairing it as I'm waiting for response.

does anyone know what this thing is? I thought it was the IACV but some research(google/image) led me to believe that was in the back of the manifold by the firewall.

Blue is the coolant temp. sensor (sends temp reading to the ecu) the one next to it is the temp sensor(sends temp reading to the temp. gauge)

Looks like the coolant temp sensor like the guy above said. The three wire to two wire harness looks like the harness for two temp sensors, one two wire and one single wire (for the dash).

This has nothing to do with the AC turn-on short though, although the two problems suggests that there are more wiring issues than you see.

thanks for the info. My dash temp meter still worked though, not sure how but w/e. I found the problem with the AC. the plug on the compressor(where 12v is supposed to go when you turn it on) is grounded. There's no other wires going there so not sure why yet, but it explains why the fuses where blowing.

Oddly enough, the AC does work. I jumped 12v from the battery directly to it(before I knew about the grounding problem) and it engaged and blew cold......until the jumper melted.

I'll have to get under the car this weekend and see if I can find what's wrong with it.
