my friend is trying to make his b13 (i guess, its a 93) sentra xe fast, and he has nearly unlimited resources. my question is this, i do not now anything about sentras, being a 240sx guy myself, and would like to know what you would reccomend for an engine (bluebird sss sr20det, pulsar gti-r sr20det, terrano sr20vet, etc) and if you knew about what kind of suspension he should get. he races in the skip barber dodge series, and is used to a sharp-handling car, so the higher the spring rates the better. this car will be making high-horsepower, and will not be driven much outside of track days. we are in the process of rounding up things to convert it to some large discs all 'round (god that is hard...). any and all help is appreciated, feel free to adress issues i didnt cover, i did search but my computer is gay and usually wont even load the main page, so i couldnt expect much, and i didnt get it (wouldnt display page, as usual, thanks dell!).

thanks a lot, tim

Ok....

For the engine...

If you choose to go SR20DET, then you want the GTi-R engine. It is the better one. The GTi-R has stronger rods, and cool things like individual throttle body's. I would say this would be the way to go for mega HP.

If you choose the SR20VET, that is cool as well. (BTW...it comes in the X-trail, not the Terrano). You can build this engine up just as easily, but if you are going for all out insane power, then screw the VVL. It's a waste of money if it's not going to be street driven. (personal opinion)

As for suspension, check out http://www.truechoice.com. Call them up and tell them you are interested in the Phase IV suspension for the B13. It's like $4000 or something obscene, but it's the best there is.

For brakes, if you haven't found gigantic rotors and calipers yet, call up Mossy Nissan (http://www.mossyperformance.com). Talk to Greg Vogel, and ask if they still have the SMC Big a** Brake Kit. They may not carry them anymore, as SMC is no longer in existance. If that is the case, call up Nissan Motorsports, and get ahold of Steve Christianson. He is the one who owned SMC (hence the initials). He now works for Nissan Motorsports, and will be able to tell you the best solution. He is the Brake God. The kit did cost about $3000 for front and back, not sure what it will be now.

Hope this helps!

ok, thanks, 4000 is not a problem for suspension, like i said, he has the funds for a s2000 to spend on the car. i knew the vet came in either the x-trail or the terrano and i picked the wrong one. come to think of it, i have no idea why i said terrano. just for kicks, we are toying with using the whole 4wd drivetrain from the gti-r or i guess the x-trail (its awd, right?). the help is greatly appreciated, guess ill learn more about the car as we work on it.

thanks, tim

now you're talking , 4wd will be one HELL of a job, you're talking whole new drivetrain, that will be very expensive, but if u say u have unlimited resources, then i guess you can do it, bolt an RB26 into that mug, i know afterdarktuning can do it for a 24o, but its 16k, so talk to them about their knowledge on how to do it for a sentra, o, well torry (EZCHEESE15) works at afterdark, so i dont even know why im posting, he can tell you everything you need to know

I don't work for Afterdark anymore.

And it's 100x easier to put an RB into a 240sx than a Sentra. I don't think the Sentra's engine bay is deep enough for the RB. And ofcourse, there is no way you could do it FWD, not that you'd want to anyway.
