to start, sorry if this post gets longer than necessary, i tend to ramble sometimes.... i have a '90 with about 206k mi. i am looking to get my engine rebuilt to support future turbo set up with a goal of 400-475hp reliably daily.. im going to deal with all the turbo stuff at a later time, i just would like help on the rebuild/build up of the engine for now..this is what i have so far, feel free to add comments/ parts suggestions

in addition to replacing seals/gaskets/hoses/anything that needs replacing:8.5:1 Arias Pistons (.20 over) PDM Turbo Cam Everything Balanced Together/ blueprinted?cometic head gasket

^^^ these i am pretty set on getting, maybe dif brands but the general idea, would any of the following be a good idea to add into the mix

Port and polish and port matchNew Cam Seals ARP Head BoltsCrower Rods or should i just have the stocks shot pinned (sp?)Clevite BearingsLarger Valves5 Angle Valve job

this is just my own opinion and my reasoning but:

Port and polish and port match - it will help but unless you are doing it yourself or can get it done cheap I wouldn't bother. The hp goal you have listed is COMPLETELY realistic on upgraded pistons, rods, and w/ a cam as the only mod to the head.

New Cam Seals - might as well while you have the head torn apart. add new valve stem seals to that list too. I believe they both come w/ the gasket set at http://www.hybridka.com.

ARP Head Bolts unless you're planning on taking the head off again in the near future I wouldn't waste money on ARP head studs. that is the only benefit. You won't be hitting high enough boost in producing 400~ whp to have any issues w/ the head lifting off the block IMHO. I think a set of OEM headbolts run $65~ vs 150$~ for the ARP head-studs. basically head studs are reuseable, head bolts aren't.

Crower Rods or should i just have the stocks shot pinned (sp?) you could go either way. I think a better long term option would be the crower rods but shot peened stock rods can hold up to 450~whp from what I am aware.

Clevite Bearings it's really a matter of prefrence. the only bearings i've heard anything bad about were Federal Mogul bearings uncle_louie83 spun a rod bearing after only a couple hundred miles. I plan on using the Top Quality brand bearings sold on hybridKA.com

Larger valves I wouldn't worry about the valves, the intake plenum is the big problem w/ the head. I'd find a shop that would fabricate or modify your intake plenum and shorten it like the Greddy style intake for the SR motor. I think you'd se alot better gain for about the same cost.

the only things I would add to your list is are an oil cooler and a high volume oil pump. hybridka.com sells one from a 280z. with the turbo and oil cooler it would be a good idea to run a higher volume pump to make sure everything gets fed plenty of oil. the oil cooler will help ALOT with the turbo heating things up. I got my oil cooler from jegs.com for I think 80$ and it came with EVERYTHING i needed including the sandwich adapter and Goodyear high pressure hose.

I'm sure someone will add some suggestions but that's basically what I'm doing w/ my spare block that I am rebuilding.
