Well since my old engine (ka24e) decides to burn endless amounts of oil and give me problems, I'm kicking it to the curb. I'm swapping it out with a KA24DE, for obvious reasons. What parts are the best for a rebuild, I want to go N/A and get some decent horse power out of it. What internals do you think I should go with. Keep in mind that my budget is some what limited because I'm only 16 and beleive it or not, part time jobs don't pay that well. So give me some ideas on some fairly priced items that will help me get some extra HP out of the engine. Thanks.

KAE internals with KADE head will give you a 2 or so point jump in compression.

Well when I got the car the swap was planned, but the recent unstoppable oil burning has kind of pushed up the plans. Since I have it parked for now.

Head gasket, stem seals, just about every gasket in the head. I'm pretty sure it's the piston rings. So I might as well just swap it anyways and live with no car for a bit.

may be a far shot, but have you checked around the trans? could be a bad rear main seal.

god that thing goes bad so many times its annoying. But that won't fix like he is talking about. To me it sounds like rings like he explaned. The reason i don't think, mine was leaking and it wasn't eating oil like he is explaning.

Mine eats oil right now and im asuming its the gaskets and stem seals at this point and that should stop it for me. Its not eating oil fast enough to be rings. Plus a granny drove the car. :D

There are 2 main seals on an engine. The front main seal seals the crankshaft to the block at the front of the engine, and the rear main seal does the same, but on the rear where the transmissions input shaft inserts into the crank.
