i just got an idea and i never heard anyone mention it before so i thought i'd share with you guys/gals.... ok so i just painted my front bumper and already scrape the bottom of it backing out of my driveway and was thinking that once i lower it i will scrape my bumper from the front and not just under it anymore. well, i have a touch screen phone with a plastic screen protector and i've seen "clear bras" for car hoods also. has anyone considered putting it on there front bumper? the center front of my bumper is a nice gloss black so i'd just get it over that spot. here's a pic so you can see what part i'm talking about..... and now that i look closer, maybe the whole "lip"

Seems like a good idea, would you cover the whole black section so you wouldn't have that line of where the clear vinyl (or whatever fabric they use) wouldn't show as much ???

Let me know how it turns if you go through with it because I scrape that part a lot too and my car isn't lowered yet either

Honestly I think that will scrape off as you enter and leave your driveway.

OR you can do what im doing right now wrap the bottom with real carbon fiber.. let it scrape all you want after that you can always fix it by adding a layer of resin.... btw im not just wrapping the underpart also the bottom part that u have painted black its gonna look SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCKKK

I agree...Its only a plastic film...kinda like a thick piece of tape. Its more meant to prevent chips from small rocks. Thats the thing I regret most not getting for my car when I first got it. I have tons of little chips on my bumper/hood that kill me everytime I wash. Not worth getting it now, maybe someday Ill get bumper repainted....

that clear plastic is pretty strong. reason i mentioned i had it on my phone is because when i put it on my phone it was too big so i had to cut part of it and me and my friend were fighting with the plastic with a razor blade and it didnt want to cut. eventually the razor blade cut it but it took forever. so its pretty strong. i told my friend my idea last night and he said he saw a vid of a eclipse that had it on the whole bumper and got clipped on the side of the bumper. they took off the plastic and the car was 100% perfect.

actually, i was thinking of doing carbon fiber wrap also. the that part of the fascia and do the rear diffuser.... (i think Loops back bumper would look sick with the plastic part wrapped in carbon fiber). but after seeing the glass black on my front, i just fell in love with it lol which is why i really dont want it to scrape

I think Surman's CF wrap is the right approach. The thin, tape-style stuff will disappear quite quickly when scraped against pavement or concrete.

Heck, you could even contour the CF to slice-and-dice rabbits....
