Iddling problems

I have '89 Nissan S13, KA24E engine. Sometimes in the morning i have a hard time starting the car, and when it finally does, it iddles very high. Usually the normal iddle is 750 to 900ish RPM, but my car is iddling at exactly 2000 RPM. I changed the IAAU (iddle air adjusting unit) a while ago, but no changes. It happens randomly, and it suddenly starts to iddle normal again after iddling at 2000 RPMs for a while. Anyone have any ideas?? I keep the car tunned as possible. I don't have major mods to it, just air intake system, headers, and exasust. This is happening before i installed the mods. Thanks ^_^

have you checked all your connections?? coolant temp sensor, maf, etc...?? checked for vacuum leaks??
