yay my block is getting shipped out monday. and i am ordering my pistons today. updates coming soon. decided to go with a 9to 1 compression ratio for increased spool and better torque. plus i talked to the guys at mazworx and they said it would make it easier to tune.

The ring weren't the problem

The issue was you detonated the hell out of the top of them.

I'd be willing to bet you had your timing off, or the tune was entitely tooooo aggressive for the boost your were running.

Nice to see you rebuilding it. Shame you didn't go LS1....you coulda been the guinea pig for my car if and when and (HOPEFULLY) the SR flys apart.

How's the weather out there man? Warming up yet?

Personally, I find it much more respectable to build the absolute piss out of an SR. I used to glorify the ls swap until I read Brian Wilkersons build thread on ziptied. Wow...... really make me want to get another SR

What thread?

PERSONALLY-I love the 240sx but I dont think I could continue to build & rebuild the car over and over or buy another and keep doing engine swaps. I havent really been able to drive mine so maybe my mind will change? But to me there are so many cars out there that I wanna own & build...I cant pick just one!

But maybe Ill do a KA-T, as an exception

Sorry Idaho-when are you expecting? The block that is

yes and no. the main problem started when i did the burnouts.i just ran it to long in 1st gear.

before that the car was set up perfectly.

from there it went down hill.

i am going to school in southren washington so it is quiet a bit warmer her then if i was at home. at home they just got 18 inches of new snow

Too late . Your setup is gonna be so sick man, you're gonna have to post up some videos. What kind of rev limit are you planning on taking this thing to? Also, I thought you got a 3 angle job done when you built your head?

Just a heads up for your headgasket, FRsport is selling Cosworths right now for $133.99.

I'm not sure they have one for your ginormus bore though, wouldn't hurt to check.
