Car: trying to decide on one...

Post

Here is the link.

Just wondering if anyone has one of these and is it legit? Looks nice but then again it could be one of those korean mortoria bs manifolds...

I know it says one year warranty, but I know a warranty is only good if you can actually contact the company and have real warranty paperwork.

BTW I have found it much cheaper than that price...

Also, and other suggestions for a TM that is not log-style?

Im sure you have heard this before but you get what you pay for. I know people that have got cheap manifolds and had them crack within a short amount of time.

Yeah, yeah... i just saw this and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it... you never know, maybe one day there will be something of good quality at an affordable price... haha

Also this one. Kinda looks similar but it has pipe welds... pretty good price. Even if it did crack I could buy 3 more for the price of the topspeed one. They aren't that hard to replace...

Be our Guinea Pig! Get the cheap one.

Really...that is why I ahve bought cheap parts before... someone has to buy them to tell everyone else if they are good. If they have a return policy get it and take it to a shop and let them check the welds. Most muffler shops can tell you if something is welded well or not.

Also if it comedown to buying 3 units because they keep cracking, you problably will need to buya a fourth or fifth, all of a sudden the one time charge of 700 isnt as bad, cause you shouldnt have to get another one.

Topspeed may look like the ebay special, but at least you can get in touch with them if you have issues, they aint like ssautochrome, I think that company acts like its is run by people who ride camels, carry swords, and have never heard of a car before.

I will be the guini pig on this one cause this is what I bought one of these cheap manifolds for. Testing

Well I bought an Ebay one with a 1 year warrenty. Its the same manifold that SSAuto uses, XS uses, JGY Uses, and several other companies. They all buy from one distributer.

The manifolds are nice to look at but dont function at all. I put my first one on and ran it for 3 weeks and I blew the welds off the Wastegate flange.I emailed the seller and he sent me a new one free of charge. I put this one and had it on 2 DAYS!!! And I blew the Waste gate pipe in pieces. When the pipe blew I had sparks and **** come out from under the hood up over the windshield.

The problem with these manifolds is not so much the welds but the material used. They have good flanges but the pipe material is so thin that it just heats very easy and with the pressure build up behind the turbo it just busts out the metal.

I have a guy in Indiana making mine. He makes manifolds with the exact same materials as Full Race. This is because he orders fromt he same companies and full race.

Heres some pics of my Ebay Manifold and the one coming from Indiana.

Indiana Guys Manifold

The pictures of his manifold were prior to the welding on of the wastegate flange and the manifold is not totally finished. Plus this was some of his early work.

Here is an example of his work now.

e works out of his Garage. I dont know about his warrenty I can ask. And yes there is a wait. I waited 2 weeks for mine to even be started. He just started on mine yesterday.

Ill talk to him and see if he would be able to do any more right now or atleast how soon he can. He makes these for a hobby and side money.

Heres his carWith a costom Intake manifold he made.

I sure will. He uses the same pipes and flanges as full race so unless his welding is just horrible I think it will hold up well.

If he could get that kind of quality consistantly then I'm sure he'll have alot of guys waiting for his manifolds.
