I've already replaced one front bearing and now the other one is wobbling. Is this just from a piss poor bearing or the hub design? Or am I the only one...

Btw, I torqued them down to 160ft/lbs. And it's on a 93 hatch.

Ichiba hubs are known for having bad bearings. Most people replace them with OEM bearings and have no other problems.

Oem...as in nsk? That's what I put in the other one. Kinda dumb that they advertise having an oem bearing. I guess they mean oem size and style. Anyway, thanks.

they advertise it as "OEM" cus it sells their product. welcome to false advertising on cheap products.

by the time you buy ICHIBA hubs then a new set of OEM bearings, you could have just bought ballin' ATTAIN/GTO hubs and be done with it.

and s14 oem rear hubs bolt right up. sooooo i dont see why ANYONE would buy knockoff hubs, they only hold the wheels on the car nothing too important.

I have Ichiba hubs with OEM bearings. works great.

Some people have used s14 hubs with s13 bearings, and they say it'll bolt up to the s13 knuckle. i haven't verified myself though...

s14's and 13's have different front bearings. the front hubs are offset different tho, as the s14 is the same as j30, the bearing retainer rings are wider than an s13 so they need a little groove needs machined into the hubs.

aka

NOT WORTH IT on the front.

rears bolt straight up.

The only reason i have the ichiba's is b/c a friend bought them for his s14 not knowing that they were different. By the time he went to install them, the return policy had expired, so he sold them to me for $100. I had a set of s14 hubs, but it was just easier (so i thought) to bolt up the ichiba's. Anyway, it's not like the bearing is terribly difficult to replace. But yeah, if I paid full price, I might be kind of pissed.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Ran mine for over a year. No issues. Only once but it went away and never came back.
