The compressor outlet on the stock SR turbo is ridiculously close to the new Ichiba mani. I don't think a silicone coupler would be able to withstand direct contact with the headers. Anyone have suggestions? I don't really want to have to buy a new turbo right now.

wow thats close, can you not twist the turbo a slight amount away from the manifold? if not then wrap that runner with heat wrap and heat wrap the charge a and intake side of your turbo, go over board with any type of heat insulator, itll give ya more power if used properly.

I thought about wrapping it, but my concern is the silicone coupler not holding up to the heat when in direct contact with the header. Even if it is heat wrapped. I dont think ?I could squeeze a coupler on there if I used heat wrap anyways.

can you not tilt the turbo any more away from the manifold? loosen up the bolts the hold the compressor housing to the center cartridge and twist it away from the manifold, shouldnt be to hard, or r u to close to the frame or body?

..that's a good looking pizza

either get another outlet pipe.. or cut this one shorter to make some room and wrap the manifold

...thanks for the heads up.. i was thinking of getting this manifold!

unbolt the outlet on the turbo and rotate it foward, worst comes to worst rotate it and cut a lil off, it should fit with the outlet already on the turbo, rotate it foward towards the front of the car

ok. So I broke down and ordered a new GT2871 w/ .64 A/R. I ordered the stance clocking adapters as well to aid in the placement. Anyone used this setup before? The stance adapters seem really strange. The Turbine side adapter has a round hole and the flange is a t25, which is rectangular. Anyhow, let me know if anyone has done this install before

Thanks!

im pretty sure you can twist the turbo so its pointing a bit further away from the manifold. I know my old turbo could move once the bolts were removed. Then again i could be wrong, i did have an 80's CT turbo. But you can do what i did to prevent the silicone from melting. I did manage to use the thermal wrap put on turbos, and encased my hard pipe preventing the silicone from any actual heat. It worked well until somehow the turbo seals went and sent piping hot oil on the coupler.
