I'm completely new to the 240sx scene and just learning about the SR motor. I recently have aquired this 95 240sx with what I believe is a S14 notch top motor and the car also has come extras on it. I have a question about the IC piping, I ordered a hot pipe online for the S14 but for some reason the pic doesn't match up to whats on the car. I have heard that there are differences in the piping for the two different turbos. Don't flame me too bad, I've owned a lightly modded 04 SRT-4 and I just sold my 05 RX-8. Any info would be helpful. If you see anything in the pics worth noting, I would appreciate it very much so. Thanks! -Martin

You need to either, get a radiator shroud or replace the mechanical fan with E-fans.. That's the only thing I really see in the pics... Aside from your air filter looking like it's had a rough life..

Yeah I'm ordering a new one next friday and I'm going to change out the rad. fan in about a month. I'm the 4th owner of it. I bought it from my friends brother who bought it for $8k with only 128k miles on the chassis, and its has been sitting outside for a little over a year and he only put 50 miles on it to move it to the other house. I just got it for a whopping $5,500 though so I'm pretty satisfied with what all it has. In the 2nd picture, on the cold side pipe, the red thing, is that for a BOV or what?

To riddle your couple of questions.

Firstly, the hot pipe can come in difference shapes, but there is normally a pipe (the black stockish looking one) and then your one that is the finished color. nothing wrong from what I can see minus mismatching colors.

The thing with the red plug in it is for recirculating your BOV. My piping fit way too tight, So I am not able to recirculate - But you look like you have a good bit of room there, in the case you do want to recirculate.

Did I see a BOV of any kind in the picture?

If you're talking about the red thing I think you're talking about, it looks like a plug. That extra piping on the cold pipe is used for the iacv... one of the previous owners most likely removed it.

The red thing is a plug and I just got that hot side pipe in with the HKS flange welded on it already. Its in a U shape and doesn't match up with the IC piping like I suspected but I found a way to "rig" it to work involving a saw and some extra toys lol. I'm getting the Synchronic bov with the recir. kit and so does that mean I plum it all the way to the red plug thing? If so....thats a little bit of a line...Thanks for all the input btw!!!!
p.s. Whats the IAVC anyway?

Excuse the small responses but I'm using my droid since my computer took a crap on me. Iacv is your idle air control valve. It is mounted on the bottom of the intake manifold, and the easiest way to explain it is it gives a smoother idle... without it your idle jumps around a little.
