i was wondering how people decided which sized they use

for example...

if you have an intercooler with a 2.25" inlet/outlet, does this mean you would need 1 size bigger (2.5") to make it a good fit? or will i have to buy a 2.25" and use some muscle?

i dont want to buy all the wrong sizes, and also i would like to make the job easy as possible

thanks guys

You match it to the pipe.

example: 2.5" o.d. i/c pipes will need a 2.5" i.d. coupler

Only use scotch tape if you run out of rubber cement....
