so i read a bunch of the stuff in stickies. then i talked to a bunch of people. i get 2 different answers. i currently have the sidemount. i was told by the people to keep the sidemount because my turbo spools at 2.5k rpm and a fmic would kill that. then i read on here that if u run more than 10psi get a fmic cuz sidemount isnt good enough for any higher boost. im running 14psi. soo... i have a front mount but no piping. the front mount isnt huge so i dont think itl give me much more turbo lag. its only about 4 inches tall. 2.5 in outlets.should i change it or not? im getting mixed answers so can someone explain it in 3rd grader talk? thanks

i mean you already said yourself side mount is good for stock boost but anything more itll heat soak easily maybe not so much because its winter time and its cold outside in general but what you have sounds pretty small i would put it on.

I seriously doubt that sidemount is doing anything for you unless you've got all of the ducting hooked up which I doubt you do.

Either get the FMIC piping, or if you're worried about lag and response issues, get a liquid to air setup. I'm getting mine from these guys, http://www.frozenboost.com

why would you doubt its hooked up?it is. complete with lil plastic tube going to the vent in a chuki bumper.

and im not gona spend the extra money on liquid to air. to me it seems like a not needed item.i have to get a starter first anyway.

go to autozone, advance auto, etc., buy some exhaust pipes and get some couplers with clamps and peice it together with the FMIC you have. If you dont want to do that, turn down the boost and save up for a FMIC Kit from CXRacing or something.

Its my view now to not half-a** anything..my friend half-assed his RB25 and it hasn't ran in almost 2 years now. It's a better pay off, trust me.

oh haha. if you go to your local auto parts store, they should sell 18" sections of exhaust pipes in straight, 45* and 90* assortments and also in different diameters. i think "r34gtr" is using them.

aluminum is lighter, mandrel bent compared to crush and it has a lil lip around the end(which you can get done to yours) to help seal better but they work perfectly fine for stock/low boost applications.

just have the aluminum bead rolled, use hair spray, or welded.

15psi is a hell of alot for the stock CA turbo...... hope that isnt what you are planning.
