In Front of Radiator.

Check out the SXOC.com Forums. Those guys were using Volvo Intercoolers for years.

this is what I did with my volvo FMIC(just inverted it)

you can also move the radiator backwards, mount the volvo FMIC infront of it and then the radiator TO The FMIC.........

either require 1 or more support brackets.

Gabby, how low was that to the ground though i dont wanna smash it to hell at the track or something, also whered you run your piping through the sides like normal front mount?

see thats where i read about it and mines seems to be different the end tanks arent longer then the rad so they bump into it, im gonna have to run the rad way back and have a goofy coupler on the hot side. Ill get some pix to show what im talking about.

You do not need that much room between the intercooler and the radiator. It will fit. (if you can work out the piping. )I have my intercooler mounted that way.( not a Volvo) In front of the Rad but behind the front firewall/crossmember/insert proper name here piece. No Cooling issues on the Track (or on the street when I ran it there )

Although, you could mount it Gabby's way as well. If you are concerned about debris on the track -- mount a mesh screen to protect it. If you hit something hard enough to brake through that you will have bigger concerns than a busted IC.

unless i get a narrower radiator yes i do have to mount it like that or somehow remove the end tanks and make them come out at in line with the intercooler not at 90 degree angles and i was asking about bottoming out not hitting stuff on the track this intercooler is much taller then a fmic because it is a mid mount, putting it like that seems to be very low i know because i tried visualizing it in that area on my car after seeing hers thats why i asked.

clearence was rough, but the end tanks on my 740 IC were larger than the one you have.

oh, well i cut the little tab off on the top and im gonna notch the sides out on the side of my core support and then i can lean it forward and it makes a whole lot of room, ill just have to make a shield to direct air to the rad.
