iavc maybe bad?

i took out my iavc to clean it cause my idea keep jumpen in drive when i come to a stop or if i just hold the brake in it does it. and i advanced the timen a lil bitye not much. i cleaned the maff. and the intake but still idle jump to 900 to 400 and if i wait longer it will stall out. and i check for vacum leaks and not a one. thank god. maybe some one could give me some ad vise.. its a 89 nissan 240xs. ka motor single cam. auto.

This is a common problem. You should definitely get ride of aiv valve but keep for environmental testing. the iacv should be cleaned and inspect spring. make sure all your grounds are clean. if you do a search , you find a bunch of stuff on this subject but it is often confusing.

I uploaded some pics in the second thread below. Searching in the forums is like looking for needle in haystack. the first link is also very good.the third link shows the valve on the car . if you know where the screw is for adjusting idle you know where valve is. it is behind air intake close to firewall on passenger side. zerothread?id=125163

first link is a tutorial and second link is a thread where i uploaded some pics of aiv. air injection valve is not needed. not sure if 1989 has it. it takes air from where the air fliter is and injects it to combust secondary gas or something. it is easy to access from top. it is on driver side of engine bay.

ok i did all that and still idle's weirdd so i took it to the shot they reaplcees on wire that was ****ed it was the aac wire. and the idle still jumped on me so i called them up and they told me to drop it off and so on . they called me back and told me my car was miss firen and they are ganna try a full tune up and if that dont do it they are ganna do a compression test and then tell me if it passes or not . if it dont they are ganna start looken at part in the motor .. so and one got any idlea i can try be for i give them my car tomarrow plzz help me
