what is the IAV valve where is it located how does it operate and how doyou know ifits sticking?

IACV AAC is located at the intake manifold. If you see your idle go to crap, that's usually a good sign it's time to give the lil' bastard a cleaning.

there are a bunch of pictures of iacv at end of this thread. this is for 1991-1994 but it is the same except with your car it is more accessible.

you dont mean aiv , do you? that is air injection valve.

no i took the AIV valve off cause my idle was crap,it gotbetter and its crap again so im guessin thats it. How do i clean it/ take it apart?

The thread I posted probably covers everything you need to know. 4 *10 mm bolts hold it on. make sure you know how to remove staple fasteners or you might break connector. Remove the epoxy off the brass screw to gain access to piston and spring. You will see a ton of carbon debris that needs to be removed. You can remove like you remove mud. Its not hard to remove.
