IAT sensor on a 98 Q45

Where is it located? I got a check engine light and went to autozone.. when the IAT malfunctions or stops working, what does that do to the car? I notice that after i get on the gas, the car starts running rough..

Its located in the intake tube that sits on top of the radiator. There's a good chance that its unplugged and thats the cause of the code and the difficulty finding it.
