IAT sensor i think, want to confirm

89 240sx bought the car, had loose sensor hanging from the filter box. wheres the other half? is this the sensor that people do that resistor mod to? my car is running very rich and fouling out spark plugs left and right, and i think the previous owner did this mod but i dont know where the other connector is to undo it, any help is greatly appreciated

ok but where does it connect to? there is no other connections right there that are open

it should be coming from the same line as the air flow meter connector.

theres nothing there... if i have a non california emissions vehicle would that plug be there but the other end not? i would think that none of it would be there, but maybe they all have that. i dunno

no the sensor wouldnt be in the air cleaner but the connector on the engine harness would be there. it may have been cut off.

i felt from the maf plug back to where it Ys with the set that go to the taped up thing i was talking about, and theres 3 wires all the way back? also how would this adversely affect engine performance
