IAP manifold cracked......

Thought it was an exhaust leak at my downpipe to my sr downpipe. But while I was away my friend took my car apart for me.... Says my mani has a nice crack in it.... More great news for my horror ka-t lolhttp://upload8.postimage.org/1....html

Hey! Mine cracked too, in like 5 places.... but that's because my motor mounts were shot, I had no flex pipe in my downpipe, and my exhaust wasn't held on by all the hangers... and i bottomed out really bad after like 5 WOT runs.

been running mine hard for ~6000 miles. no problems. flex pipe FTW.

haha word..I haven't had a problem with mine since I welded up the cracks, and fixed the problems I stated above. Which was quite awhile ago.

ROFLMAO this crack is bad...think of the manifold..not where the turbo sits on the flange.... now go 1/2" below the flange... 75% around there is a crack.....

I had the SAME problem with this manifold 3 years ago. The powdercoating also peeled off after about 2 weeks. That was the biggest waste of $750 ever...

yeah.. mine cracked on every runner where it met the collector. as well as the wastegate tube, and where all the braces connected. welded all the cracks back up, and it's been great ever since. good thing I didn't buy this new at $700 or I would have been pissed.

hey justin.... my civic had the same **** happen to the tubular mani. it went all the way around the flange. one day the turbo just completely fell off while i was driving it LOL. i used some **** i had in the trunk to hold the turbo up to keep the oil flowing and not backing up, and also so i didnt run over my turbo. it was the loudest 50 mile drive back to my house ever. i drove the entire way with my hands over my ears driving with my knees (no bullchit). your mani is ****ed man. even if you weld it back up its gonna crack again. this happened on a car that was running a really short downpipe. having no flex pipe will aid in the cracking problem. whats this about selling a ka-t s14??? details?

I have a flex pipe..sr downpipe with flex pipe in it from megan racing...Interested in buying my s14?Has a roll cage, racing seats, widebody on the rear, and a t25 turbo set-up. Fired her up today... perfect idle. Taking it to the paint shop before this weekend to get painted daytona blue beleive. I got a coupel pics on my camera. I'll get more tomorrow and post them tomorrow night. I got a 92 red hatchback for sale with brand new clutch if your interested for 2k. Put the transmission back in, in the morning....

That's weird...

Done about 20,000km's on my IAP manifold, and it looks like the day I bought it, just a little less shiny. Hasn't given me one problem.

Did yours come with the extra bracing piece (mine has it)?

I purchased one of their manifolds when they 1st came out. I believe i purchased the 10th manifold & downpipe they made according to Marc. Its still holding strong, the powercoating is almost gone, not as shiny, but its still in-tact..!!

Hey Florida, any idea what version of manifold you got from IAP? I know they had quite a few revisions over the years, with supposed improved engineering/reliability etc.

Didnt they have a warranty, too?

They had a one year warranty. I'm at 2 years now.. only had I think 8000miles on it though. The powder coating was gone within 2 weeks. I'll have the pics up in the morning...Had my friend weld it. see how long it'll last...
