Hey guys I searched every where and came to this conclusion, I plan on buying the IAP stage one kit here in a few days. I currently have a KA24E with only about 90k miles on it. Here is the deal. Can I safely run 10PSI on it, with just a upgraded fuel pump and a stage 1 IAP KIT? Of course next summer I plan on putting bigger injectors, some type of menagment, forged, rods and pistons. But till then u think Il be able to have the car as a daily driver on stock engine at 10psi?

you need some kind of management and extra fuel to safely run 10psi, 370cc sr20 injectors and an safc will work

Stay around 8psi for now with stock injectors and aWalbro and you'll be fine... Not much difference in that extra 2 psi for now...

well yah even with out my rebuild engine Il get and safc2, boost gauge jsut to be able to watch my boost plus its alwayes good to have one, and a boost controller, for future. I really dont wanna get 370cc it's just a waste of money for now if Im planning on getting the 550cc for the future heh. But Im guessing with it tuned nicely on the safc and the walbro I should still get some decent numbers and reliability until next June with 8psi plus the engine only has 90k miles and it runs beatifully.

keep it stock on the 7lbs. Get a safc to better tune it. Goign to need to find someone with a wideband or dyno though. I bought a wideband and I'm in the middle of installing it right now. If you up the boost nay I recommend swapping injectors to be safe.Set of 370's only cost like 80-120 depends on shipping.

Really hmm I might just look into that then heh, if it's that cheap for a set of 370's that might just prolong my life of the engine and it's a 120 dolar fail safe u know. How much boost can the 370's run safely do u know?

one last question I know I should probably search this one but its worth a shot heh. I know the 370's are side feed, and I have a SOHC which is top feed would I need the whole fuel rail or just the injectors? thx a lot guys. Im really lookin forward to my project.

ahh your sohc....Forgot that part. Think your way to go then is to get some dsm injectors. But think you'll need to get a resistor box...At this point..I say just get a FMU. so it'll increase your fuel level.Just need to see what point your at so your stock injectors dont' stay open the whole time.

You can use 370cc inj. But they have to be from a CA. But yes you will have to either wire in resistors or do the resistor box thing. I have a set of 370 CA injectors that I might want to sell. lemme know if your interested [email protected] thanks - Jake

as far as boost goes what C/r is your motor running? if you have a 90 it's 8.6:1 if it's an 89 look for an intake temperature sensor on your airbox. if you have it then you're 8.6:1 if not you're probably running 9.1:1 comp. this will affect how much boost you can safely run on your stock fuel system.

as far as injectors go, you're going to need a resistor box to run most of the injectors. I say hit up the junkyard. you can pick up a DSM resistor box and injectors (450cc stock) from ANY turbocharged DSM (as long as it's a manual, there are some variances in the injector sizing in some of the later 95 and up automatic turbocharged DSMs) you could pull that off for under 100$ and have a good upgrade. plus it's drop in (minus soldering for the resistor box)

right now I'm running a bit over 8psi on stock fuel system on my SOHC w/ IAP stage 1 kit. I have a 90 SOHC @ 8.6:1 cr and 240,000 miles on the original motor.

(sidenote you'll probably want to upgrade the stock spark plugs while you're at it. the stockers are ZFr5E-11's in NGK coppers. BKR6E-11s work and are a range colder. that's what I'm running now and they're about 7$ for a box of 4.)

OH WOW MAN thats some awosme info, and pretty much xacly wut I was lookin for heh, I have xacly wut you hae a 1990 SOHC, that means It's 8.6:1, which is cool heh and my motor has 90k miles on it hehe. How long have u been running your setup? oh and how much more OIL did you add after the turbo install? thanks a lot I really appriciate the help.

I've been running mine since May. I didnt add any extra oil until I installed my oil cooler. I did forget to mention that. I'd DEFINITELY get an oil cooler if you can spare 100$ and you can add it on right now before you go turbo.

look on http://www.jegs.com and there is a Permacool brand oil cooler kit that comes with everything including Goodyear hose and sandwich adapter. I'll find you the link if you want but it's about 80$ shipped.

I run 4 quarts of 10W30 Valvolene and 1/2 a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer. I think the car burns about a quart or so every 2000 miles (every oil change)

I'm running the 150hp kit and its been working just fine but if you can afford it might as well go with the bigger one. check my cardomain site but I have pics of mine I'll see if I have a pic of it behind my bumper to show its size in perspective.

im not sure how well the pic shows but it's about 8 inches tall by 12 inches long. i zip tied it in front of my radiator since I dont have an AC condensor but there's MORE than enough oil line to run it anywhere. I think i ended up with about 3 feet left over. (you can sort of see it coiled up in the box underneath the cooler)
