GEO- The oil feed line is -3 and has been for about 2 years now, you don't need a restrictor at all. We sized it -3 to eliminate the need for one. -4 AN lines allow too much pressure, your kit comes with the proper sized lines.

Thanks!

WD-Thanks to you, FIZ and AZ and all of our friends on here for the unanimous support we have received. We are very proud to be able to be the KAT sponsor here. It is honestly quite nice to see how much love there is here for the KA series engines

Brian, wait til you see this kit. It's beautiful.

I won't give up ALL the secrets yet, but there are some unexpectedly nice surprises (certain parts a LOT nicer than I expected for the price).

Poor AZ got his Snickers jacked UP with that UPS fiasco. IAP is now sueing UPS for wreckless endangerment and wanton cruelty of a defenseless Snickers. We expect a HUGE settlement amounting to over $.50. Of course we will split this with AZ under a heading of 'Punitive Damages'.

Good stuff Marc. I wonder if the Open BOV is going to cause stall issues? Also, you ever need your webpage re-done with some new shopping cart things or a brand new flashy design, you know where to turn.. ;-)

GEO- Thanks for the offer man, we may indeed be doing something new in the future.

As far as stalling, we haven't seen alot of actual stalls, just the idle may stumble a bit when coming off high boost, nothing too terrible. We just wish Greddy would get off their duffs and get the recir fittings done and shipped to the US already. In the meantime, we all get to enjoy a decidedly turbocharged PFFFFFFFFFFT!

I've only had minimal issues running open atmosphere over the past 2 months. I think i've stalled out twice but that's it. During those times I also had some boost leaks which were already causing the car to run rich. Since I've fixed the boost leaks (for the most part) I haven't had any issue. not even stumbling but I did toss an automatic ECU in as well...

Here's the update.Marc I don't see that dump tube anywhere and cleaned the garage today....Seems I messed up...Not really but don't want to drill those 2 other holes for my flange.I'm dropping oil pan tonight or tomorrow.Getting the flange welded on and getting beads put arund the intercooler pipes.Just so I don't have to worry. The only thing I will have left to do is to is just slap everything on.My friend was tightening the bolts.I think it was just defective. Plan to install everything friday night.I'll be going to the dyno hopefully on saturaday morning and get exhaust as well.If I can get in....Being my car is done and I'm working 12-14hrs a day and no vehicle,I got my vert registered and tag so I'm cruising around in it. Thank for the great customer service.

Justin- Seems those pipes may have been missed. We apologize for that deeply. We don't normally include those for normal kits, only for NICO and it seems the guys in the warehouse may have not included them in your's and Greg's kits as they don't appear on the checklists. Sorry for the inconvience. Those pipes are being made as we speak and we will get those out to you and Greg ASAP. The checklist for NICO members has also been updated so it won't happen on future kits we ship out like GEO's

Our apologies once again and we will rectify ASAP. Let us know with anything else you need help with!

Looks good. Remember, don't rush things or you're bound to make errors. When you get frustrated with one thing, start working on another thing or take a break. Also, plan for the worst. You might end up spending twice as much time as you thought it'd take(or in my case 16x). Good luck.. and keep us updated!

florida, sounds like you need to take ur time. lol. patience is a virtue. as for running an open bov, it really will only cause problems when neutraling up from exiting off a highway or try to coast down a hill as when the bov shoots out the air, a rich condition is presented and sometimes the engine will catch it; othertimes it will flop. the cure is to just decelerate thru all the gears

Florida

You first started a thread about how you are waiting for the kit...if everyone made a thread about waiting for a part this forum would be littered with 100+ threads per day.

Now you started a thread about a box with parts in it...if everyone made a thread about getting a package, ^^^ see above ^^^

Next you're going to start a thread about how you're installing it

Then a thread about how you are impressed with the kit

Then another thread about how the car drives

Then another thread with dyno resultsA thread with track times

and another and another...

Give it a break man...I'm a laid back person that never gets into anyone's face, but your are either 1. an attention whore, 2. a post whore 3. both.

Wait a sec. A noob is confused. I thought the IAP kit came with oil fittings for the turbo that didnt require welding of the oil pan. Florida, are you a special case or was I misled?

You are correct! IAP's kit has oil fitting that doesn't require welding. Read the quotes and you will understand. As long as you follow the instructions, you don't have to weld!
Florida240sx wrote:Only thign I'm stuck on is the oil. Which is due to me not taking off the oil pan.

I just didn't like the way it was going to hold.Proper way to do it I think would be to loosen motor mounts and tilt your engine so you get more room.I was squished under my car so not enough room.Another thign I recommend is to drill smaller holes first.Like 3/16th so the bit doesn't jumpy around. Then once you got your holes made switch to the correct size. 1/2 and 3/8th and you should be good.Learn from my mistake.
