No, it's just paint.

yup, thats my motor the valve covers were gold when i got it but i stripped all the paint and did a few coats with a gold i liked better and i did all the pulleys too.

what are you going to use the clear coat the engine? the paint will fade and eventally burna nd flake off if it is not coated with something?

i was going to paint my entire engine black too, with red valve cover though, the "testarosa" must live!! (red-head for you who dont know what testarosa means)

looks really nice though, never thought of painting the pully's.

Does anyone know how well annodizing would work? I used to be into paintballing and they annodize all the aluminum parts on those... and it looks AWESOME! Dee you annodized your cam gears right?:)

it is high temp engine paint. i forget what temperature it is good up to but it isnt supposed to wear out or flake off. i read the label:D

its not like the cheep crome on those cheep headers. I once painted my 250 with black and it lasted for a year til "The Man" took it away from me
