Where can I get an IACV valve only for a 2003 QX4? Every site I go to only sells the complete unit for $180 - $200, but I only want the black electrical piece.

Thanks,

If you can get a new IACV for that kind of money, buy it.
Dealer price is $400.00, give or take a few pennies.

Why do you need one BTW?

High, erratic idle. No vacuum leaks, no blown fuses. Replaced plugs, pcv valve, cleaned maf sensor, throttle body, new gaskets for valve covers and full synthetic oil. All that I read up on is pointing to IACV.

Also tried relearning the idle, several times.

Seems if the iacv goes bad it creates a short/over current draw and blows out ecu most of the time as well.

Ecu is repairable or replaceable, just a fyi when you replace the valve and still no change

Exactly.
Had this very experience this winter. Bad IACV took out my ECM.
Seems to be happening more and more on older Nissans.

I wonder if there is a way to insert protection of some sort to safeguard the ECM should the IACV short out. Diodes? I don't know.

Either that, or replace your IACV as a precaution if your Pathy/QX4 is 10 years or older, and has over 150K miles on it.

FYI, for the last few months, I've been looking around for a lower mileage used R50 to replace the one I have now.
If I find one, I'll replace the IACV the day after I get it.
