yesterday a friend of mine came up to my job with his new dual cam swap and he was running his motor with out an IACV so now i'm wondering if you need one or not he said the only problem is sometimes it goes up and down at idle anyone else not running yours?

without an iacv? hmmm i think there is a mistake

if you have your iacv missing your car will have a massively huge vaccum leak and if you have it removed and pluged off your car will not idle at all

hense the name

Idle Air Control Valve

i would love to see pictures of his iacv missing and see his car running fine that is very puzzling and in either case, its not like you would save much weight by removing it so no point really

well actually im building my ka24de for a 510 swap. the guy i bought it from removed the iacv, egr, and the iacv regulator and blocked it off. unsure if this will hurt the performance of the vehicle or even run but he was running it in his 240 so i can only hope i wont have any issues in the 510........what you guys think??

it wont hurt it one bit.. if you look it up in a manual all the iacv does is control idle when decelerating for more than ten seconds, on start up and some other few bs things like that. the air regulator just warms up the intake charge when its cold. im assuming it does this by the egr?? im not sure but yes it will run and if for some reason it wont idle then there is a throttle stop on the throttle body just adjust that for the desired idle.
