my idles is high on my freshly swapped rbb 20, it ranges from 1200-1800, so i think i need to clean the idle air control valve, but i dont kow where it is or how to clean it.

so can somebidy show me some pics and how to clean, i searched and couldnt find anything for a rb.

also i want to make sure i have all nessicary lines hooked up to it so can somebody take pics of how theres is hooked up.

thanks

Your idle screw set properly? and also does it fluctuate up and down like it has a huge cam? Your TPS could be bad. How does it drive under load?

It's the unit held in by 4 bolts at the back of the intake plenum with a brown plug going to it.....take it off clean it with card cleaner, make a new gasket and snap her back on.,..if this doesn't help you no doubt have to set your idle switch.

i dont know about the idle set screw, how do i adjust that?

no it does not fluctuate much, when i let off the gas it will got down to 1000rpm, then go up to 1200-1800 and then stays there till i rev it up again.

it drives fine under load, has good power all around no sputting or hickups.

The idle switch is built into the tps sensor, you have to check continuity while settig it...this is an issue with tons of rb swaps..thats more then likely it.

Make sure tps is set correctly. Pull the connector off, switch your tps to 20v scale, it should range from .4-4.0v Mine was at .45-4.03 for reference

Next, disconnect tps, start engine, turn iac valve clockwise until the rpm is at desired rpm. If that doesn't work, you can remove it and take some q-tips and clean it out or replace it.
