So my car was having these weird idle issues for a while. Ever since the 105K mark and after installing my Injen Short ram intake, way before I went turbo my cars idle began to get messed up. The idle would jump between 200 and 600 and would sputter almost wanting to die. This problem only kept getting worse and more persistant.

After researching this topic for a while I came to the conclusion that this was IACV and AAC related. I dont drive my car much, especially since I turboed it and havent yet completed my setup but I finally had time and decided to take off the intake manifold to redo vaccum lines, remove emissions, replace gaskets and solve this idle issue.

I ordered a few new parts from Nissan and they are:

I picked up the IACV AAC Valve from my local Nissan dealership. The part number is 23781-53F02. Im pissed because they charged me $217.04 for the part, which is available @ CourtesyParts.com for $163.7, money aside, I finally took off my stock part and noticed that its much different then the one they ordered for me. The part number on my stock one is: 23781-53F12. Now this would be okay if it wasn't for the fact that they are slightly different from one another. The have the same basic setup but the new one is a bit more compact and has one odd thing about it, well ill let the picutures speak for themselves:

OLD (left) VS. NEW (right)

Its a little dirty to say the least :roll:Why doesnt this have the small spring??

The other parts I ordered were from courtesyparts.com as they have much better prices then the dealership:

IACV-AIR REGULATOR: 22660-53F00Throttle body gasket: 16175-79S71Engine Coolant temperature sensor: 25080-89907

Now I can go ahead and try these parts out and hope they will work, but I would liek to consult you guys before hand  so that after all the hard work of putting the intake manifold back on I won't have to find out that the part is wrong and I did all that work for nothing.

You should be fine. It looks like an updated design.

Also sometime between 91 -93 the IAC changed design. I believe it didn't have a spring inside in 93. I took my spare 93' apart to clean it. and ended up finding out it has different harness plugs so I had to clean and reuse the one I had on my 91.

The IACV on my 1992 is the same as the new part you ordered. When I checked the write-up to clean the IACV, I was confused as to why they were different, but I realized that the design just changed.

If you started having problems afte the Injen intake install, I would say it has something to do with your MAF sensor. Purchase a can of CRC MAF Clean and clean the element. With the higher-flow filters, typically more particles can pass through, coating the MAF element. Also, if the Injen intake uses oil, that can also coat the MAF and cause problems.

I think it was a separate part but not expensive so double check when ordering.

Any chance somebody can post a pic of where this is located? I am having idle and stalling problems and would like to clean this but I am not sure where it is located.
