i wanted my fans to come on @ set temps. having fans on all the time does not allow motor to warm up properly. thats why i went with dif fan controller. as far as iacv having voltage still going to it with car off is another storysjbsuperman1425 wrote:im not sure about removing the IACV, but i think that Tim (r34gtr) removed his air regulator and IACV and just cracked the throttle open and adjusted the TPS to compensate..im not 100% sure on the subject but i think thats what he did..
as for the fans, all i did with mine was wire a switch in the center console to turn mine on/off..really simple.
yeah it def runs without it plugged up, but once i plug it up it idles up like its supposed to do. i need to figure this out soon or get rid of dif fan controller and get a thermoswitch and forget about it.ca18detgabby wrote:I ran my car for about 8 months w/o an IACV........ as the connector was broken. most people get them from j-land with broken connectors and never wire them up.
you can run them w/o them plugged for sure.
yeah thats the culprit. im going to leave it unplugged and start it up tonite...see if it effects my e-fans.sjbsuperman1425 wrote:you are talking about the AAC valve correct? (greenish/yellow connector?) if so, just unplug it and run without it. i haven't seen it really effect idle that much on my car anyway.
A clicking IACV valve with the key out suggests that there's a wiring or grounding problem with the engine harness. Check your ECCS relay. Either its bad, or something is causing it to trigger on when it shouldn't be.splintercell wrote:well i thought my dif fan controller was causing the problem running the fans longer than 2 minutes after engine is turned off. the other morning im detailing my engine in my shop with dead silence...i hear this electrical humming noise. I put my ear next to IACV and there it is...i immediately unplugged it and it went away. when i plugged it back up i hear a relay click and it didnt hum anymore
i havent had any problems till i installed this dif fan controller. everything is wired up correctly to temp sensor and fans come on like they should. when i shut car off yesterday i immediately pulled the plug on iacv closest to front of engine. the dif fan controller shut off too...wtf!
is the iacv bad or is a relay bad in fuse box, because egi relay is always clicking when voltage gets low. im about to yank everything out and go back with clutch fan.
do i need iacv anymore? i dont have a/c. does anyone make a blockoff plate anymore?
weird...i never had any problems till i installed dif fan controller.the iacv is not clicking...the relay is clicking. the iacv has a electrical humming noise to it after you turn key off...it stops once you unplug it. when i plug it back the relay clicks for a few seconds than stops.bruinbear714 wrote:
