Anyone running IACV delete on the stock S13 ECU and throttle body? I'm having troubles after I removed mine where my car wil start and then then idle shortly and then die. Played with my fuel pressure (base 36 psi), throttle body adjustment screw and the TPS to make sure it was reading .45 V. No vaccum leak that I am aware of. I havn't had my car running since I replaced my intake manifold and have had countless problems since then for no reason. Any help would be awesome!!

Uhm, you do realize the purpose of IACV right?

With the throttle body closed and removed IACV your engine isn't getting enough air to keep running.

Yes, I know what it does and how it works. I don't have the IACV anymore otherwise I would throw it back on. (Long story) Just looking to see what other peoples setups are when they are IACV delete and/of if its at all possible with my setup before I bite the bullet and buy another one.

The problem is the engine requires more air during cold start and cold running conditions then during hot conditions. So if you set the throttle body open to perfect idle while warm, it will not idle while cold. Likewise if you set it for cold idle, it will idle too high when hot.

Not to mention if you set it "perfect" during warm idle, any slight variation in temp/conditions will cause the idle to go up or down from there. So it will never be "set" correctly.

Run a proper IACV, Run the coolant through it too. without coolant the idle with be too high because the warm coolant causes some wax compound to expand (iirc) in the IACV which lowers idle. I think the TB also gets coolant, but it has to do with the temp of the TB not the idle speed, iirc.

you could do like the carb guys do it and set the idle by drilling small holes in the throttle butterfly. just gotta do it when it warmed up...

the right way is to run an IACV tho
