What happens if the IAC is routed to the cold pipe?

As long as it's in a pressurized pipe, it's fine. Actually it will work fone anywhere after the MAF, but if it takes air before the turbo, under boost, it will allow air from the manifold back in front of the turbo. Essentially, it will be a boost leak that will not cause a rich condition. Either way, it will work the turbo more than necessary, sapping power output.

block off the iacv because they are pieces of crap. use some sheet metal and just put it under the valve, like a gasket. easier than using the damn thing. you don't need it.... just let the car warm up at normal idle.
