So I was just noticing how ugly and complicated the iac/aac thingy is. Just wondering if you guys would tell me what you think of getting rid of it and the pros/cons of it. Setting my idle with the set screw doesnt bother me and making a block off plate couldnt be that hard. And just so I dont get yelled at, yes I did search this and found no conclusive answers or helpful advice.

When I fit my polished intake manifold I will be making up a billet cover plate for the AAC set up as well as a bracket for the back of the intake manifold to fit an RB25 AAC set up. I will also be removing the cold start idle up valve on the front of the intake manifold and be using the Air Con idle up to step the idle up for cold start through a switch and diode to the air con relay.

cant see your crappy block off plate and your MAF is fairly close to your turbo, you have room to spare make it longer.

thats all the room i got homie, ill try to take a better picture later. Only thing i should have a problem with with it being that close though, is the fact that it might stall coming to idle from driving.

i dont know how fat your filter is but i use apex and its narrow enough to sit on top of the relay box without clearance problems...and actually as a matter of fact im using stock intake pipe soo maybe u can get a different pipe to make it longer?

the only pro is that you free up a little space between the plenum and valve cover.

your car not idling per factory and you having to futz with it sometimes to get it to.

if you remove this, then you might as well remove the cold start jazz near the t-stat housing as well.
