2001 I30T - sitting at light and car died. car would only run if I kept a little gas pedal on it. If left to idle, it died. Local mech changed the IAC, but afterward idle was erratic and shifiting was WAY bad; he said ECM needed replacing and dealer was best to handle that. Dealer replaced it but transmission shifting issues remain. At 1500 RPM it "drifts" to 3000 RPM with a loud whiny air leak sound and eventually shifts. Funny thing is, if I lay on it hard it shifts good! never had a trans problem before this.

Two stops back at the dealer and they pretty much say its the transmission. No codes are flashed. Transmission shop isn't convinced its the transmission, but is willing to toss in a used one.

Any other suggestions? I saw a smilar post but it had no answer to the problem.

Thanks for any help!

Sounds like the line pressure is not working properly if it shifts well when you stomp it.

There are no codes showing at all via a reader or are you simply relying on lack of SES light?
