Anyone know where the IAA valve is located on OBDII (98) ka motors..??My FSM nor the Chilton manual have any IAA valve listed

But i did find this post on 240sx.org that explains my symptons

The symptoms are clear: as you hit the clutch or lay off the gas and the car begins to slow and idle the RPMs may drop (sometimes quite rapidly) to extremely low levels, sometimes actually stalling completely. If this is happening have someone check out your IAA valve and you may wish to clean all the ground wire connections for the car's ignition and injection system.

you mean IACV? idle air control valve? if so thats right by the throttle body. I can't think of what the IAA valve would be off the top of my head...

Maybe you're talking about the PAIR valve...

It's located on the driver's side. It's a little pipe connected to the intake near the filter, which is attached to the valve/solenoid, which connects to the exhaust. It's a big mess of stuff, and it all can go. Just plug up the intake and exhaust holes. There used to be a sticky on how to remove it... don't know where it went

taken from the FAQ on 240sx.org "IAA Valve Adjustment"

"The IAA valve assembly is located on the passenger side of the motor downbelow and behind the intake manifold. It's about 8" from the firewall. According to the Nissan shop manual, to adjust the IAA valve, disconnectthe throttle sensor harness connector with the motor shut off. Now with theengine idling in neutral, adjust the IAA for an idle speed of 650 RPM. Withthe motor shut off, reconnect the harness connector. Now with the motoridling, you should have an idle speed of 700 RPM. If you can't get theproper idle speed, the AAC valve may be defective as It's the one thatreceives signals from the ECU. The AAC bolts on to the IAA."

yeah structure got it... that's where it is. i know cause i have my intake manifold off right now and am fixing my idle in addition to adding a turbo. it is a pain in the *** to get to. if you want to leave the manifold on and have minimal access to it you have to take off the egr valve. the location of all of this crap hasn't changed since '91 as far as i know. i have had a '96 and now i have a '92 and my brother has had 2 different '95's. they are pretty much identical, with the exception of small changes between obd1 and obd2. if you want to trace the stuff from the stock intake pipes look right before the throttle body. there are a few little lines running off of the pipe. one goes to rocker arm ventilation and another goes under the intake manifold... that ones for idle. there are 3 things where the idle control is. there's a solenoid for a/c to increase idle when the a/c is on. there is the regular idle control. then there is the auxilary idle control which is temperature controlled and lets more air in depending water/coolant temperature. this is the valve i am having problems with... the damn thing wont shut off. i guess it needs cleaning or replacing or something. anyway let us know if you have other questions.
