I searched the site and only found instructions relating to an 02-03 maxima xenon bulb replacement and was wondering if anyone here has replace their I35 bulbs and if so could you help me out.

My main problem seems to be that its such a tight space to work with and I just dont know how to remove the bulb and the piece it is attached to. I can get the cover off fine and expose the area where the bulb is but dont know what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just undo the clip and pull it out... if it's like the `00 I30s I've worked on it's not a big deal. I forget the clip layout on the D2R bulb, but it wasn't difficult.

If you're really that nervous about it, head over to http://www.phatg20.net or the FSM section here and check the factory service manual for directions, or go over to your local auto parts store and pick up a Haynes/Chilton for your car or the equivalent year Maxima.

the Maxima instructions should be more than close enough for your purposes.

This is for a I30, but should be relatively the same:

Seems pretty straight forward. The only difference between those and the Maxima HID lights is the torx requirement.
