Didn't know where to put this one since there is no forum for an I35. I have a 2002 I35 with 220,000 miles. Over the past 1000 miles it has developed what I call some type of "torque steer" issue. When accelerating (just slightly) the car will want to turn right. When letting off the gas it goes back to the left. I jacked it up last night to check the suspension and everything looks good. I then took the car up the mountain and then coasted down - no issue. I also took on a mountainous road and no issue turning - only if I use the accelerator or let off. So going down the interstate is fun to say the least. What could be the problem? Transmission? Help!

While the I35 does have torque steer it should not be that bad. What can make things worse is suspension components as a car ages. Check for: Bad control arm bushings, worn tie rod ends/sockets, bad motor or transaxle mounts, struts, etc.

I will move this thread to the Maxima forum which is supposed to serve both vehicles. Good luck.
