Recently I have seen pics of a 2002 -2003 Maxima with a speedometer cluster from an I35. It looked sweet. I was told that is not a plug and play installation, but switching a few wires from original location on the cluster wire harness it works just fine. Also my 2003 Maxima GLE does not have traction control, and I was told that cluster works in vehicles with TC.Does anybody know which wires need to be moved? Does anybody have the wire diagram from 2003 Maximas cluster and/or 2003 I35s cluster?Any info will be greatly appreciated.

This is a new one to me. To help, below is the gauge diagram from the '02 Maxima EL FSM guide. Hope it helps and keep us updated...

Thanks I'll need to find now the wire diagram from the I 35's cluster to put them side by side to compare and see where the dference is. Then buy one from Ebay and do some testing, hopefuly I don't fry my car's electonics. I know is possible to make it work because I saw pics, unless the guy used photoshop to alter the pictures.

Good luck on it. If you do get it to work, detail it and do a write-up for us.

Honestly, I have never paid attention to the I35 cluster so I was unaware of any differences...

I'll just try and attach the electrical part of the 2002 I35 FSM for your viewing pleasure.

Hope it helps.

Interesting.... I had never looked at a I35 cluster to see it is setup differently.

John, if you have I35 FSM's avail, hit me up. Something to add to my collection
Yes, the I35 is set up a bit differently. They're also EL gauges, rather than bulbs.

Thanks again,I asked the guy about the installation info, did not want to give it out or sell it. Well I guess I have to figure it out the hard way. Comparing the two wire diagrams it looks that I have to make lots of changes to my original wire harness. I'm not ready or willing to make such drastic change to the wire harness to my only car so I'm thinking of makeing a small adaptor with a few male female connectors, and make all the changes within the adaptors. Just in case I mess up, I could go back to the original cluster, and no harm done. I'll let you guys know what hapend.

I find it disconcerting that that seller suggests using his cluster as "a replacement for your older mileage Infiniti unit"...in effect suggesting odometer fraud.
