Hi all,

This is my first post and I hope I can find some help here.

Recently I had to move my driver seat all the way back, now it will only move 2 inches and only once side moves, so it does not move straight but a bit to the side. What should I be looking for? Are there rails that the seat could have came off, or other mechanism.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to NICO!

The fact that you can move the seat front-to-back, though restricted, indicates the motor is good. It's possible that something got jammed into one of the tracks when you move the seat all the way back. Check for the obvious - coins, pens, etc. You will need a flashlight for closer inspection.

If you need to remove the front seat. Make sure you disconnect the battery for at least 3 minutes. This is more of safety precaution as your car probably has a side airbag mounted on the seat. Be very careful when handling airbag-equipped seats. Each airbag assembly has an explosive charge designed to deploy it during collision. The airbag has yellow connector and wires - do not poke test probes into the connector as it can cause the airbag to deploy.

Report back on your findings.
