hello all. quick question here... i am replacing the rear brake pads on my 2003 I35 and have come across a problem. i compressed the piston as much as possible before pulling the assembly from the rotor, but realized when putting the new pads in that it was not compressed enough to get the piston back in place. i cannot compress it any more, tried a C clamp, everything. anybody have any ideas? the emergency brake is off, cant figure it out. i have to get this finished today!! thanks

On FWD you use a special tool to screw the rear caliper piston in......compressing with C clamp will [may] cause damage- just as explained in FSM. Been that way with Maxima for last 10 years.

See the 2 holes to fit tool.

Most auto stores have a generic version. It's a small cube with pin pairs on each face, and which is used with a 3/8" driver. Some folks have used needle nosed pliers, but I wouldn't reccomend it. They can be tough, and you don't want to risk tearing the seals.

T3 is in Marietta--greatest shop in the country.
