I30t hard to start problem

This might be a periodical topic on this forum, but I did check some previous posts and could not get the answer.

My wife's car is a 2000 I30t with almost 130K miles. It starts and runs normal if the car is parked there for several hours. When the car runs for a while and engine turns off, it will be very hard to restart. But if I open the gas cap and close it, engine will start as normal. There is no "service engine" light on when the engine is running. We sent it to a mechanic and no error code can be found.

Anybody has idea about what it wrong here? Thanks a million.

btw, the starter is new. This starting problem has already killed one starter.

Could be that the MAF sensor needs a cleaning, or the throttle position sensor is on the quits when it's warm. Could also be your gas cap...

Just cleaned the MAF sensor. Seems it works, but need to be confirmed with more time.

has the problem stopped.. im dealing with a similar issue.. i was looking to replace the fuel filter but to my surprise i dont see one on this car??? the hoses come off the hardline from the tank and run to the regulators?

I am also having hard starting problems with my Maxima. I have a '97 Maxima 5-speed with 226k miles and sometimes it'll take a long time for the car to start. It always start it just that sometimes the crank time is longer than normal ...what can be causing this problem???
