Got a 2000 I30T and recently the brake light is coming on here and there on the dash. This is the light that comes on when you have the parking brake set, however, obviousely as we are driving the brake isn't on. Have tried pulling the brake release, pushing the parking brake on then releasing it but that doesn't clear away the light. It doesn't interfere with anything, but it concerns me. Any ideas?

some cars are equipped with a brake wear indicator light which is the same as e brake light. maybe that's it?

That's a very good idea, however, couldn't really be the reason here. Car just turned over 75,000 miles, and I replaced all 4 brake pads 4 months ago. Unless there is something to "reset" when changing pads, the indicator idea shouldn't come into play.

just popped into my head - there should be a switch under the brake lever that is pressed in when the lever is down. that would be my next guess before i search a bit.

EDIT: did a bit of looking around, look at part #36011 - might be faulty.
