I am considering putting 2002 Maxima factory 5-spoke wheels 16 x 6.5 (40mm offset) on my 96 I30. The vehicle currently hasthe stock factory wheels 15 x 6.5 (45mm offset) with 205/65-15tires. In order to keep the speedometer close I was planning togo with either Yokohama AVS dB S2 or ContinentalContiExtremeContact 225/55-16 tires. Are there any issues withthis wheel/tire size combination? Anyone else with an I30 runningthis combination? I took some measurements and it looks likethere is more than enough room in the wheel wells lock-to-lock.Any other suggestions for tires? I initially was planning on goingwith Michelin Pilot XGT H4 tires but I am concerned with their wettraction performance. Thanks.

Welcome to NICO!!!

Well, you're increasing the "track" by 5mm on each side (no big deal), so you're not involving any suspension bits...

I'm a big fan of going a little wider, and I'd think a 245/50/16 would look real sharp on that car. Not an appreciable difference in overall diameter. There are a myriad of good tire choices in that size for a great price, since that's a real popular Mustand/Z28/Firebird/old Vette tire size.

The Conti tire you mentioned is a nice tire - There are more tire-related posts here than you can shake a stick at, so do a search and enjoy the reading!
