I had a Viper system installed on my 99 I30....do you think that is overkill? I had a 98 Taurus SHO stolen last month from my car port so I am paranoid.

Also I was wondering why Driving Mom's car is under my name and how does one delete Driving Mom's car?

It changes by how many posts you made. You graduate to cooler titles, as you progress in our club.

PS: I dont think the viper is overkill, tell us a bit about installation/price/usage etc.

The Viper is a 300 dollar addition to basic Infiniti security.....very sensitive to any intrusion. Even so, the Infiniti dealer told me that theft of Infinitis is very rare.

Also Palmerwind, with the Viper, if one gently bumps the windows , or the bumpers or the tires etc., the system will alert and shut down the starter and the siren will sound. The great thing is that the factory system will sound the horn in the event of a hood or trunk invasion to compliment this system. It is only installed by authorized dealers.

It is a very nice system and for the money it is not bad for a peace of mind, but I have a 99 I30 as well, if the sercurity system are the same, you sould have nothing to worry about. The factory syatem requires a facotry key with a security chip on it, if the chip are not commucate with the on board computer at the time the motor is started it will disable the motor, I have tried to use a non factory key before it desable my car for 30 minutes befor it will allow me to restart my car with the factory key again.

And rightly so! I have Viper systems on both Q's... maybe overkill, but it beats underkill every time!
