My recently purchased 2000 I30 appears to be in very good condition with very low mileage. Recently, I noticed something peculiar when looking in the trunk. Whenopening the trunk, next to each taillight, towards the trunk opening, is a hard plastic grooved section. Mine are two different colors. One is gray and one is black. My car is Silver. Does this seem strange that two different colored sections would be used when manufacturing a car? I'm wondering if an unreported accident may have occuredwith the previous owner. Possibly, the car was repaired using parts from a different colored Infiniti.

Could some of you I30 owners please look in your trunks and report back to me? I'd certainly appreciate it!!! I'm wondering what my options are with my local car dealer, if I was sold an automobile previously in an accident, that was unreported to me? Thanks a million!!!

They may have run out of the black plastic plugs the day your car was built. Look the metal over in the trunk and under the car. That may be a better indicator of a previous crash.
