I30 or 300ZX

So I HAVE a 1996 I30.. 120k miles. I WANT a 300zx TT. Now my question for you is... I your opinion, should I not bother pouring money into the I30 and save for a ZX OR should I save m money for a ZX. I really want a ZX but at the same time I love slowly adding to a car (the I30) help?

I'd start by considering the fact that a decent condition Z32TT can easily cost over $10k. The Z32 will likely be much more expensive to maintain than your I. The VG30DETT is a great motor, but it can be hard to work with in that small engine bay, and it's also being pushed fairly hard.

I guess you just have to determine whether you can afford to own and maintain a Z32TT while also modding your I30. If you haven't already, try posting in the 300ZX section and asking what some Z owners paid for their cars, and put into them to keep them on the road. It's not that they're unreliable cars--just that they're sports cars, and therefore will have higher maintenance costs than, say, your I30.
