Hello, i need some help. 2001 infiniti i30, no start. No crank, no anything. When I turn the key, it makes one click sound like it is coming from the glove box, and that is all. All electrical systems work perfectly. lights are bright.

Battery is charged, starter has been tested, works perfectly. Terminals are cleaned, and tight. I searched for an hour, that's my limit.

Is there a relay? WTF??

Thanks for any help....

UPDATE:
I did some snooping, and also changed the 120amp fusible link off of the positive battery terminal, and also the "starter relay" which I think is called the 'inhibitor relay' in the fuse box in front of the battery, still nothing. Next is the ignition switch, then off to the mechanic, because it is out of my abilities...

Hey, welcome to the world of infiniti no start blues. I did fix it, and the story is complex. As it turns out, the ignition switch was burned out, because the car was not sending the 'message' the starter to start. I tested the "message" wire to the starter, (the smaller gauge one, not from the battery) which was not firing. As it turns out, the switch was burned up and not telling the starter to fire.

But then I also (or maybe the auto parts guy) hooked up the little pigtail to the wrong starter post, and the solenoid blew up. So it was a 1-2 punch of my own stupidity. New starter (under warranty) and new switch, and good to go. It also has the slow cranking problem, but ill deal with that later.
